What is "Strategy"?

Every company has a set of business capabilities that perform at varying degrees of effectiveness.  Strategy is defined as the relative difference or positioning of your enterprise's capabilities relative to your competitors.  Strategic planning is the process of reviewing each key capability and its current effectiveness via key performance indicators (KPIs) and making necessary adjustments: Eliminating, Raising, Reducing, Creating (ERRC).  Strategic execution is the use of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and solution architecture practices to implement projects that modify your strategic capabilities via ERRC to achieve strategic business objectives.
